In his first feature film “A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3: DREAM WARRIORS”, Ira Heiden played a young wizard who wore glasses and fought evil with magic. Only he wasn’t named Harry Potter, and he didn’t go to some cutesy school for sorcerers. Instead, his character Will Stanton finds himself confined to a wheelchair due to the recurring nightmares he and all of the kids from Elm Street are experiencing. Committed to an institution along with other “troubled” teenagers, they all have one thing in common; they all face a deadly and unspeakable evil when they sleep. Together with Kincaid (Ken Sagoes), and Joey (Rodney Eastman), they form the “Dream Warriors” to battle that evil, who is none other than Freddy Krueger.
After his stay on Elm Street, Ira went on to appear in “ELVIRA: MISTRESS OF THE DARK”, and in many popular 80’s and 90’s TV shows, including “FAMILY TIES” and “LOIS AND CLARK: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN”. In 1988 Ira was reunited with his Dream Warriors co-star Heather Langenkamp in an episode of “JUST THE TEN OF US”. Most recently, Ira can be seen as C.I.A. techie Rick McCarthy in “ALIAS”. We are happy to welcome Ira to the Flashback Weekend 20th anniversary celebration of “NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3: DREAM WARRIORS”.
